he fell in love with her

She was made many years ago from a McCall's pattern, now outdated. My neighbor boy, when he was about five years old, fell in love with it. I gave it to him and told him he could always come over to my house and play with dolls.

Brady

This little girl is made from a 21 year old magazine pattern, which I had kept for my later days, when life would slow down. Well, life hasn't slowed down much, though I do find time for daily naps when needed.

The hardest part was her hair, and that really isn't surprising. I've never been good with my own hair.  But at least my own hair wasn't yarn glued onto my skull.

I think I'll call her Brady for all of her braids.

Justin

This is probably the first doll I made, and that would have been 15 years ago, more or less. Amanda named it Justin. I had a lot to learn; one of the most obvious was how to do hair.

imagine Santa

This guy is about the same size as a three year old child. One day an alterations customer came over with her little girl. I stood Santa in front of her, but she hid behind her mother. Dolls aren't supposed to look like that and be that big, apparently. So I sat him down on a chair with a couple of other more traditional dolls, and gave her a smaller one to play with. After awhile she started to approach Santa, and by the time her mother and I were done with the fitting, she had Santa on the floor and was actually resting in his lap.
